Mission and Goals

The mission of SCCA is to be an association of responsible professionals which functions to enhance human development and to advance the counseling and human development profession.

The purposes of the organization are:

1. To unite persons engaged or interested in any phase of counseling and human development in South Carolina.

2. To maintain and improve professional standards in the field of counseling and development.

3. To encourage the development of counseling and development activities through South Carolina.

4. To serve as a central clearing agency for information pertinent to present or contemplated personnel and programs in South Carolina.

5. To disseminate information and to educate the public about the human development profession.

6. To stimulate creative and experimental activities in in the counseling and development field.

7. To promote research in guidance, counseling and development work an din other related areas.


Any person whose primary responsibilities or interests are in the area of human development is eligible for membership.
