I am excited to announce that next week, CCU will begin to offer graduate level counseling courses. For those seeking their supervisor credential, we will be offering this training as well. We still have a few seats available if interested. Coursework also can be applied to continuing education credit hours. We welcome all!
At this time, we have launched three courses available for registration for the Fall 2024 semester:
EDCO 500 Professional Counseling Orientation and Ethical Practice (3 credits)
EDCO 607 Special Topics in Counseling (3 credits)
EDCO 609 Counselor Supervision (3 credits)
We are still in the process of proposing a counseling program to the state of South Carolina Commission of Higher Education and Department of Education. CCU plans to offer two 60-credit M.Ed. graduate degree counseling programs: (1) clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) and (2) school counseling (SC).
If anyone is in need of continuing education, Coastal Carolina University is launching graduate counseling courses starting next week.

The Treatment of Trauma and the Internal Family Systems Model: Dr. Richard Schwatz
Even before the pandemic, the demand for mental health professionals with specialized training in trauma far exceeded the number available clinicians. Today, individuals are living with equal or more uncertainty, heightened stress, prolonged grief and trauma. The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model is an intervention designed to assist clients grappling with severe trauma-related behaviors and who might be unresponsive to conventional therapeutic approaches. This two-day training is tailored to empower clinicians working with diverse clientpopulations experiencing traumatic responses, equipping them with an extensive toolkit of concepts and techniques to better serve this critical demographic.
When: Sept 5th and 6th, 8:30am - 5pm MST
