In General Info/Forum Rules
Welcome to the SCCA Forum!
We want everyone to get the most out of this community, so we ask that you please read and follow these guidelines:
1. No Spam
This forum define spam as unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web sites, or posts with little, or completely unrelated content. Spamming also includes sending private messages to a large number of different users. Exceptions for this that exist include job postings if they are posted in the correct thread only, and providing referral information when asked.
2. Do not post copyright-infringing material
Providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain copyrighted materials is forbidden.
3. Do not post “offensive” posts, links or images
Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on this forum. This includes user pictures. Use common sense while posting. This is a web site for mental health professionals.
4. Remain respectful of other members at all times
All posts should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective.
However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community. It does not matter what title or power you hold in these forums, you are expected to obey this rule.
5. Please be specific in your subject line
Rather than posting something vague such as "Help", be a little more specific like, "Help finding in-person CEs for Eating Disorders". This may help to encourage others to respond with productive advice.
6. No case consultation in the forum
It is fine if you are asking others to start a case consultation group, or want to ask if anyone has a good case consultation group you could join. It is also fine to ask for referrals with very general information (ex: Seeking referral for TF-CBT certified clinician/practice for a 12 year old girl in the upstate). However, posting any kind of specific case/client information is not okay - this is the internet and as mental health professionals we must stay mindful of our client's privacy and HIPAA rights.
If a user is found to have broken rules, the moderator may suspend or ban the user account for up to an indefinite period of time.
